A ceramic pot dating back to 1 st -4 th century AD has been found by a local fisherman from the bed of Huong river in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue.

The pot, which is around 18cm high and 18cm in diameter, is the oldest among thousands of ancient artifacts of the Champa culture found so far in the river bed, according to local cultural researchers.

The pot was believed to be used as a container of sacred water or other offerings in rites held in ancient Champa temples or as a household utensil./.
