Ancient documents of Cham group get restoration
The National Archives Centre No.2 has restored several dozens of ancient
handwritten documents of Cham people which were earlier kept at the
Research Centre for Cham Culture in the central province of Ninh

The restored documents, totalling 12,334 pages, are handed over to the research centre on December 30.
Director of the Cham Culture Research Centre Dang Nang Tho said that the documents, many of which are written on “do” paper and “buong” leaves, deal with a wide range of topics, from history, culture, education, astronomy, medicine, to faith and rituals of the Cham ethnic group.
The research centre collected the records from the Cham community in Ninh Thuan, but many of them were damaged due to poor preservation conditions, he added.
The documents were delivered to the National Archives Centre No.2 for restoration in May.-VNA
