A delegation of the Angolan Presidential Office led by Florbela Rocha Araujo, Secretary for Judicial and Legal Affairs, made a fact-finding trip to northern Bac Ninh province on March 25 to learn about its experience in attracting foreign direct investment (FDI).

Deputy Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Tien Nhuong briefed the guests of the province’s socio-economic achievements.

Amid the economic slowdown last year, Bac Ninh still maintained a double-digit economic growth. The province is among the three localities which recorded the biggest industrial production value in the country bringing back over 13 billion USD, he said.

The leader also expressed his wish to share the province’s experience with Angola in investment promotion, contributing to fostering the friendship between the two peoples.

Araujo affirmed that experience gained during the trip will help his country build a better investment environment.

On the occasion, Nhuong and the Angolan Ambassador to Vietnam signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in forestry exploitation and processing, and the supply of construction workers in oil and gas to the African country.

The same day, the delegation visited several FDI firms at the Vietnam – Singapore industrial park in the locality.-VNA
