Thai police detained Kamarudeng Saho, a Thai national, suspected of involvement in the deadly bomb attack at Erawan Shrine in Bangkok that killed 20 people and injured 120 others on August 17.

The suspect was arrested in Sungai Kolok district of Narathiwat province, southern Thailand on September 1. He was then taken to Bangkok and detained at the 11 th Army Circle headquarters on September 2.

Kamarudeng Saho was allegedly in contact via phone with Wanna Suansan, one of eight wanted suspects in the incident.

Previously, Thai authority has arrested a foreign man believed to be the main culprit behind the bombing near the Thai border with Cambodia.-VNA
