Hanoi, (VNA) – The G20 Summit’s agenda features many similarities with the priorities defined by Vietnam and the APEC during APEC Year 2017, which serves as the foundation for G20 and APEC to connect their agenda priorities and enhance regional and global cooperation in handling global issues.

Both forums aim to promote inclusive and sustainable development, strengthen trade and investment linkages, encourage innovation, and seek cooperation in handling climate change and solutions to socio-economic-labour-employment issues in the context of the 4.0 industrial revolution.

It is also noteworthy that nine among G20 countries are members of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum, which is also a favourable condition for the two forums’ coordination.

The fact that Vietnam, as host of APEC Year 2017, is invited to the G20 Summit demonstrates the position and role of APEC in the regional and global administrations structures. It also shows that Vietnam is emerging as a reliable and responsible partner in the international community.

Ahead of the G20 Summit, Vietnam has attended related conferences and actively participated in the building of the agenda for the upcoming G20 Summit slated for July 6-7 in Germany.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc will visit Germany and attend the G20 Summit in Hamburg from July 5-8 at the invitation of German Chancellor Angela Merkel. -VNA
