Donations to victims hit by storm Wutip in central provinces continue rising as a national move to relieve their suffering.

For Quang Binh, the hardest hit locality, the total relief from donors nationwide reached 13.5 billion VND (635,000 USD).

The Mekong Delta province of Soc Trang on October 8 launched a donation programme to help storm victims in central provinces to get back to normal life. The sum collected right after the launching ceremony stands at over 265 million VND.

The central province of Binh Thuan has sent as much as 700 million VND to the victims, of which 200 million VND went to those in Quang Binh.

Another call for donation, which will last till October 31, was also held in the southern province of Long An on October 8. On the first day of the call, 50 million VND was raised.

In efforts to mitigate the aftermaths of the natural woe, the Vietnam Post (VNPost) between now and November 31 is offering free services on packages sent to storm victims in the central localities.

Earlier on October 4, the post’s staff raised 150 million VND to assist the victims.
