A special art performance was held in Ho Chi Minh City on April 30 to celebrate the 38th anniversary of the Liberation of South Vietnam and National Reunification Day (April 30) and the 127th anniversary of International Labour Day (May 1).

The event featured songs to honour the generations who sacrificed in resistance wars for national independence as well as express people’s affection to the soldiers defending the country’s sea and islands.

The highlight of this year’s event was art firework displays at Thu Thiem Tunnel and Dam Sen Cultural Park.

On the occasion, the city’s streets were decorated with impressive lights and flowers.

Many activities were also organised in the city, drawing the participation of people in HCM City and surrounding areas.-VNA
