The 15th ASEAN-Republic of Korea (RoK) Joint Planning and Review Committee (JPRC) Meeting was held recently in Jakarta, Indonesia, to further strengthen cooperation, especially in political security and ASEAN connectivity.

According to the ASEAN Secretariat, the meeting reviewed the ASEAN-RoK cooperation for the past year, particularly the progress in the implementation of the ASEAN-RoK Plan of Action in the 2011-2015 period, and exchanged views on future relations between the two sides.

The meeting discussed the follow-up to the initiatives and outcomes of the 15th ASEAN-RoK Summit, which was held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, in November 2012, emphasising the need to ensure all follow-up actions are undertaken in a timely manner.

It also adopted the Terms of Reference (TOR) of the ASEAN-RoK Joint Cooperation Committee (JCC) and the ASEAN-RoK JCC Working Group, and noted the proposal of the RoK to convene the ASEAN-RoK Special Summit in December 2014 in the RoK to commemorate the 25th anniversary of bilateral dialogue relations.

The meeting was co-chaired by the Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Indonesia and the Ambassador of the RoK to ASEAN in Jakarta.-VNA
