Young people from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and Russia have gathered in Moscow to discuss development orientations for both sides’ relations.

At the freshly-concluded Russia-ASEAN Youth Summit which took place for the first time in Moscow, participants touched open the role played by the ten-nation group in Russia and vice versa.

ASEAN students expressed their wish to tighten ties with Russia and deepen cooperation in transport and information.

They stressed that Russia is ASEAN’s major partner in the fields of oil and gas and space cooperation.

During the two-day event, Russian students showed their interest in ASEAN-related issues and proposed initiatives for regional development.

The summit aimed to introduce its activities and discuss regional issues, drawing attention from Russian young people to the common work of bringing the Russia-ASEAN relations to a new height.-VNA
