Deputy Defence Minister Sen. Lieut. General Phan Van Giang, who is also Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, led a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation to attend the conference.

The trip was made at the invitation of Admiral Harry. B. Harris, Commander of the US Pacific Command, and General Jonathan. H. Vance, Chief of the Defence Staff of Canada

Vietnam’s attendance at the event affirmed the country’s role and position in the region and the world through bilateral and multilateral forums on military and national defence.

It also contributes to asserting Vietnam’s foreign policy of multilateralisation and diversification of relations, as well as its active, proactive and responsible international integration.-VNA
