Australian Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry Joe Ludwig said on June 12 that his country will appoint an agriculture consultant in Vietnam in 2014, as part of efforts to boost its farm produce exports to 45 percent by 2025.

The consultants and agriculture officials Australia has posted overseas will bridge ties between the Australian Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry and international organisations and emerging trade partners and seek new opportunities for local food producers.

According to the Australian National Food Plan, the country spent nearly 6 million USD funding operations of its agriculture consultants and officials who are now present in 15 countries worldwide, such as the US, Japan, Thailand, India and Indonesia.-VNA
