Earlier, Minh smashed his way to a bronze medal in the men’s singles, becoming the first Vietnamese shuttler ever to win a medal at a world-level competition.
There have been no changes in the latest Badminton World Federation top ten, which was released on August 22, and Malaysia’s Lee Chong Wei is still the best ranked player in the world.
Meanwhile, Vietnam’s top chess player Le Quang Liem was knocked out of the World Chess Championship in Norway after being beaten by his Russian opponent Peter Svidler in the fourth round.-VNA
