HCM City (VNA) – President of the Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) Mujahidul Islam Selim was welcomed by Vice Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Vo Thi Dung on June 22 during his visit to Vietnam.

At the meeting, Mujahidul Islam Selim said the CPB and people always wish to promote the solidarity and friendship with the Party and people of Vietnam, for the two countries’ prosperity and global peace. 

The guest expressed his impression of strong developments recorded by Vietnam and HCM City in particular, and praised the Communist Party of Vietnam’s sound leadership in settling problems sprouting during national construction and development. 

The Party leadership in nation-building and Vietnam’s experience in the past revolutionary struggles will be valuable for left wing forces and communist parties in the world, he said.

For her part, Dung said Vietnam and Bangladesh hold conditions and opportunities to step up economic cooperation and delegation exchange, for the sake of their people, and for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world. 

She attributed HCM City’s achievements to the great support of international friends, including the CPB. 

The HCM City Party, authorities and people will do their utmost to preserve and carry forward the fruitful solidarity and friendship with communist parties, including the CPB, the official said. 

During their stay in HCM City, the Bangladeshi delegation visited a number of historical relic sites.-VNA
