A training course on pre-birth screening, funded by Belgium’s Handicap International, was held in central Thua Thien-Hue province on March 30.

Obstetricians and paediatricians from eight central provinces and cities were updated on ultrasound technology to detect deformities of 11-13 week-old fetuses.

Lecturers included experts from Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore and the UK.

The two-day training is part of a joint project between the Thua Thien-Hue Health Department, Handicap International, and Hue Medical College on inborn differences for the 2008-2011 period./.
