The southern province of Binh Duong has attracted over 14 billion USD through more than 2,000 FDI projects, the provincial People’s Committee announced.

Seventy percent of the total investment has been disbursed, boosting and stabilising the province’s industrial sector, said Tran Thanh Liem, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee.

By the end of August, 46 projects were licensed with a total registered capital of 250 million USD and 65 operating projects poured in an additional 220 million USD.

Liem attributed completed infrastructure and flexible administrative procedures of industrial zones to the strong flow of FDI into the province.

The province’s industrial sector offers jobs for more than 720,000 labourers, of which over 600,000 come from other provinces.

Among 37 countries and territories investing in Binh Duong, the Republic of Korea was the leader, with over 400 FDI projects worth some 1.5 billion USD./.
