The fifth International Women’s Cycling Tournament (Biwase Cup 2015) will take place from February 28 to March 8 in the southern province of Binh Duong.

About 70 cyclists from 11 local teams and three foreign teams from Thailand, Malaysia, and Kazakhstan are expected to participate in the event, management board representative and General Director of the Binh Duong Water Supply and Environment Co.Ltd (BIWASE) Nguyen Van Thien announced during a press conference on February 26.

According to Thien, the tournament will be expanded to span 750 kilometres with nine routes through seven provinces including Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Lam Dong, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, finishing at Thu Dau Mot city, Binh Duong province.

Besides the three foreign guest competitors, the event will attract Binh Duong’s Biwase team, An Giang botanical team, VTV Can Tho, Ho Chi Minh City’s Vinamit, and other teams from Hanoi and Dong Thap.

The annual tournament aims to provide local cyclists with a good opportunity to hone their skills and learn from the experience of foreign competitors in preparation for regional and international competitions. The event was organised by the Vietnam Motor-Bicycle Sports Federation and the Binh Duong Water’s BIWASE in honour of International Woman’s Day on March 8th.-VNA
