Vientiane (VNA) – Permanent Vice Secretary of the Party Committee of central Binh Thuan province Huynh Thanh Canh met Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly of Laos Sisay Leudetmounsone during a reception in Vientiane on August 22.

Canh, who is also head of the provincial National Assembly deputies delegation, is on Lao visit from August 21-24 on the occasion of the Year of Vietnam-Laos Friendship and Solidarity 2017.

He reiterated that the Vietnamese Party, State and people in general and the Party Committee, authorities and people of Binh Thuan in particular always highly value special ties with Laos.

Sisay, for her part, said the event affords both sides a chance to share experience and improve operating efficiency of the provincial-level People’s Councils of Laos.

During their talks, the Vietnamese delegation and a delegation of the Lao National Assembly’s Committee on Deputies Affairs led by its head Phongsane Nhuttitham reviewed the working outcomes of the deputies delegation, including those regarding law-building, citizens’ reception, settlement of complaints, meeting with constituents, and other activities.

Phongsane said as the provincial-level People’s Councils of Laos began working nearly one year ago, their experience and apparatuses remain limited. Therefore, both sides should need to hold exchanges and consultations to learn from experience so that they could well serve as an organ representing interests of the people and think-tanks for the legislature.-VNA
