The flight data recorder of a Lao Airlines plane that plunged into the Mekong River killing all 49 people on board was discovered at 9.40am local time on October 31, the Lao national news agency KPL has said.

This is one of the two black boxes onboard the ATR-72 aircraft. Authorities are continuing to look for the other that contains voice recordings of the flight, according to KPL.

So far 47 bodies have been recovered, 43 of them have been identified. Searches and efforts to surmount the consequences of the accident are being promptly conducted.-VNA
