The Joint Boundary Commission (JBC) meeting on border dispute solution between Thailand and Cambodia had not resulted in any agreement after the two-day meeting held from April 7-8 in Bogor , West Java, Indonesia.

Indonesian Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa said that the JBC meeting had reached no agreement on solving the dispute since the issue was complicated and could not be solved in one meeting.

However, the meeting will be followed by an unofficial meeting on April 9 between Indonesia, as ASEAN chair, and Cambodian Foreign Minister Hor Namhong and Thai Foreign Minister Kasit Piromya, he added.
For the Indonesian observer at the disputed area around the Preah Vihear temple, Marty said that there had yet a decision on the issue but it is hoped that a meeting will be held to discuss it.

He also stressed that the main purpose of discussion is to ensure peace and safety in the disputed border area.

The dispute between Thailand and Cambodia in the the Preah Vihear temple has persisted in many years. Indonesia as ASEAN chair suggested the two nations organise the meeting aiming to resolve the problem./.
