An open air concert celebrating Japanese and Vietnamese music featuring the Hanoi Brass Band will be held at the Japan Foundation on May 10.

The six-member band will perform an extensive repertoire of marching songs, jazz tunes and popular classics.

The concert will end with brass renditions of famous Japanese songs, including My Country Home and Grandfather's Clock.

Hanoi Brass Band was formed in 1998 by students from the Vietnam National Academy of Music.

The band’s leader Kim Xuan Hieu was supported by the Japan Foundation to train with the NHK Symphony Orchestra in Tokyo in 2012.
