The delegation, headed by Superior Buddhist monk Thich Thanh Phong – the highest-ranking monk of Vinh Nghiem Pagoda in Ho Chi Minh City, was on a propagation visit to four European countries, including Germany.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Germany Do Hoa Binh and hundreds of Buddhist followers around the country attended the celebration held in the Pacific Trade Centre (ITC).

The Vietnamese Embassy in Germany will continue supporting religious activities among Viet Kieu in the country, Ambassador Binh added.

Vu Lan is a Buddhist holiday, which is held annually on the 15th day of the 7th lunar month. The main objective of the festival is for the people to express their gratefulness and appreciation to their mothers./.
