Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung said the current visit of Lao Vice President Bounnhang Vorachith will give new momentum to the time-honoured friendship, special solidarity and all-faceted cooperation between the two nations.

Receiving the Lao State official in Hanoi on July 7, PM Dung hailed the comprehensive outcomes in bilateral cooperation such as in politics, diplomacy, trade, investment, culture, education, and defence-security, as well as at regional and international forums, practically benefiting both countries.

He reiterated that Vietnam is resolved to join hands with Laos to reinforce their partnership in a result-oriented manner.

PM Nguyen Tan Dung asked both sides to closely coordinate to implement agreements reached by their leaders as well as possible, adding that Vietnam will do its utmost to assist Laos in performing its role as the ASEAN Chair in 2016.

The Lao Vice President briefed the host on outcomes of the talks with his Vietnamese counterpart Nguyen Thi Doan and appreciated Vietnam’s valuable supports to his country during the national development and at regional and international forums.

He emphasised that Laos attaches special importance to its bilateral relations with Vietnam and will join Vietnam in unceasingly exerting efforts to consolidate their friendship.

He said he wants the two countries to continue promoting their all-round collaboration, especially in trade and investment, pledging optimum conditions for Vietnamese businesses’ long-term operations in Laos.

The visiting leader also called for Vietnam’s continued help in his country’s development progress.-VNA
