Phnom Penh (VNA) – Cambodia and China armies on December 15 commenced a joint military drill at the Cambodian Royal Army Institute in Kampong Speu province.

The nine-day drill, titled “Golden Dragon 2016”, brought together a total of 377 personnel, including 97 troops from the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) and 280 from the Cambodian Royal Armed Forces.

The exercise aims to exchange experiences on disaster relief, humanitarian aid and counter-terrorism, thus consolidating and boosting relations between the two countries’ armies.

China is Cambodia’s largest provider of military aid.-VNA
