The information was announced in a joint statement by the Cambodian Ministry of Health and the World Health Organisation (WHO) on August 21.
The boy was confirmed positive for human H5N1 avian influenza on August 17 after he caught fever, headache, abdominal pain, vomiting, cough and lethargy, the statement said, adding that the boy came into contact with sick poultry.
"The boy has now recovered," it said.
Earlier, two H5N1 avian flu cases were announced on August 14, including a 9-year-old boy from Battambang province and a 5-year-old girl from Kandal province.
The 9-year-old boy died following several days in hospital, becoming the 10 th fatality caused by the virus in the country this year.
Since 2004, a total of 38 people have tested positive with H5N1 in Cambodia with 29 ending in death.-VNA
