Cambodia collected 2.07 billion USD for the State budget in 2013, representing a year-on-year increase of 8 percent, according to the country’s Ministry of Finance.

However, the ministry said the country’s budget spending last year edged up 39 percent against the previous year.

The ministry’s report also said the country has achieved a stable macro economy, despite floods and the unstable political situation.

Growth in such key economic sectors as garment-textiles, construction, tourism and investment have contributed to the country’s increasing budget collection, the report said.

Last year, the Cambodian Government spent 4.4 percent of the gross domestic product on social services.-VNA
