Cambodia unveiled a bronze statue of the late King Father Norodom Sihanouk on October 11 to honour his achievements in securing independence and contributing to national reconciliation and development.

The inauguration of the statue was to commemorate the first anniversary of his death (October 15).

The 4.5m-high statue in a 27m-high memorial stupa is erected in a public park in Phnom Penh.

The project was built in eight months at a total cost of over 1 million USD.
