The Vietnam Air Service Company (VASCO) introduced a Can Tho-Da Lat air route at a ceremony held on May 7 in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho to improve connections between the Southwest and the Central Highlands.

The commencement event took place upon the first landing of the ATR 72 aircraft at the Can Tho International Airport from Central Highlands’ Da Lat province.

Vasco aims to launch twice-weekly scheduled flights on a trial basis over three months; flight time is about 50 minutes.

The same day, the national flagship carrier Vietnam Airlines transferred the Ho Chi Minh City – Chu Lai air route to Jetstar Pacific Airlines (JPA) with three weekly scheduled flights on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday using A320 aircraft.

The transfer agreement between the VASCO and JPA will start from May 19. Passengers who purchased tickets after the transfer date will be eligible for refunds or continued service on the JPA.-VNA
