Vietnam exported 57,927 tonnes of cashew worth 409.18 million USD in the first quarter.

This represented an increase of 32.4 percent in volume and 15.42 percent in value, Nguyen Duc Thanh, Chairman of the Vietnam Cashew Association (Vinacas), told a meeting in Ho Chi Minh City April 6.

The average export price was 7,066 USD per tonne.

The US, China, Singapore, Canada, Australia, the Netherlands, the UK, Thailand, Germany, and the UAE are the Vietnam's largest buyers.

Global demand is expected to remain high, especially in the US and Middle East markets.

The industry set itself a target of 2.5 billion USD from exports this year compared to last year's 2 billion USD.-VNA
