The Centre for the Promotion of Imports from Developing Countries (CBI) under the Dutch Foreign Ministry has made efforts to support Vietnam’s exports to the Netherlands as well as the European Union (EU).

CBI Managing Director Hans Klunder was speaking at a ceremony in Ho Chi Minh City on November 28 to mark the 20 years of partnership between the centre and Vietnam .

According to the official, the ties between the CBI and Vietnam in general and Ho Chi Minh City in particular have developed positively over the past two decades.

The event not only marked the sustainable development but also played an important role in further increasing possibilities of cooperation and training, and enhancing import supporting activities, he said.

Deputy Chairwoman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Hong spoke highly of the centre’s collaboration with Vietnamese partners in the recent past.

It has implemented many activities in the city, such as setting up a trade and investment portal, training programmes to raise capacity and support export activities for the wood processing industry, which provided Vietnamese enterprises with updated information on the EU market, she noted.-VNA
