Four new projects have been licensed to operate in Dung Quat Economic Zone, increasing the investment capital by 46 trillion VND.

They include a two billion USD thermoelectric plant to be built by the Sembcorp Utilities Company from Singapore ; a 3.8 trillion VND Industry – Service - Urban Zone project by the Vietnam - Singapore Industrial Zone Company and two projects to build harbours with a combined investment of 1.4 trillion VND.

The Vice Chairman of Quang Ngai Provincial People’s Committee and Head of Dung Quat Economic Zone’s Management Committee Pham Nhu So, said that the initial success in drawing investment into Dung Quat had been due to the province changing its strategy and focusing on businesses from ASEAN and East Asia as well as drawing up suitable policies to support them.

The new projects included, Dung Quat Economic Zone now houses 115 projects with a total capital of 174 trillion VND, approximately 8.3 billion USD, including 15 foreign direct investment projects worth 5.74 billion USD.-VNA
