A charitable golf tournament for Vietnamese children will be held in Hoa Binh northern province on April 9.

Swing for the Kids 2011, the fifth of its kind, is aimed to encourage disadvantaged but studious students and support construction of learning infrastructure facilities at localities nationwide, the organising board, the Investment Review, said at a press briefing in Hanoi on Jan. 6.

The previous four tournaments have raised nearly 3 billion VND for 4,000 scholarships for disadvantaged students and construction of learning infrastructure in 38 cities and provinces and 14 universities, colleges and vocational training schools nationwide.

This year’s tournament continues to see former Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Manh Cam and Minister of Planning and Investment Vo Hong Phuc as Honourary Presidents./.
