Thirty poor children with cleft lips and palates in Duc Co and Chupah districts, the Central Highlands province of Gia Lai will receive free surgery from December 27-29.

This is part of a humanitarian programme called “Warm Winter” jointly organised by the provincial Youth Union, the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City’s District 12 and the city’s Cho Ray Hospital.

The programme also provides free check-ups and medicine for nearly 1,000 poor people, mainly ethnic ones.

On this occasion, the Ho Chi Minh delegation will present 800 gifts to families in extreme difficulty.

This is the fifth consecutive year the programme has been organised in the province to help local people.-VNA
