Focus should be on the development and attraction of high-quality human resources as an effort to raise businesses’ competitiveness, heard a workshop in Ho Chi Minh City on September 29.

Addressing at the event co-organised by Leading Business Club (LBC) and Boston Consulting Group (BCG), LBC Chairman Pham Phu Ngoc Trai described human resources as the vital role for the business development and improvement of firms’ competitiveness.

According to Trai, as international trade agreements are signed, there will be the high-quality workforce moving among countries taking part in the agreements and enterprises will face challenges in attracting the talents.

Bernd Waltermann, from the BCG Asia-Pacific Management Board, highlighted the advantage of high-quality human resources in business development strategies in the face of economic integration, while pointing out challenges on human resources that require a new approach to handle the issues.

The workshop also provided participants with an overview on trends of workforce moving in the coming time, and effective ways in recruiting, developing and keeping high-quality staff.-VNA
