A symphony concert to mark the National Day of Luxembourg (June 23) and the 40th anniversary of Vietnam – Luxembourg diplomatic ties took place at Hanoi Opera House on June 21.

Addressing the event, Deputy Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son said that a series of socio-cultural and artistic events have been organised to celebrate the occasion.

He said he hoped the two nations would enhance their work together in many fields so that their partnership could realise its potential.

Luxembourg Ambassador to Vietnam Marc Thill praised the strong development of Vietnam-Luxembourg ties over the past 40 years.

In addition to strengthening political ties through high-level visits, he said that cooperating in education and the arts is one of the priorities of their bilateral agenda.

Thill expressed his hope that the concert would bring a piece of unique culture from Luxembourg to Vietnamese audiences.

The event featured performances by artists from the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra and world-famous Luxembourg pianist Francesco Tristano, under the baton of Vietnamese conductor Le Phi Phi.-VNA
