The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Finnish Embassy in Vietnam and the southern province of Binh Duong jointly held a conference in the province on November 19 to explore investment opportunities and ways to promote trade between the two countries.

Speaking at the event, Finnish Ambassador Kimmo Lahdevirta noted that the potential for bilateral cooperation on economy, trade, energy and environmental protection remains largely untapped. He briefed participants on the business environment and opportunities with Finland in particular and North European countries in general.

Finland is known with its high technology, especially in shipbuilding, information technology, machinery and health care. Environment always occupies a high position in the country’s development policy, the diplomat said.

Representatives of enterprises in Binh Duong, one of the largest investment destinations in Vietnam , took the chance to learn more about the potential, strength, custom and practices, procedures and commodities suitable to Finland. They also explored the ways to seek partners in the market.-VNA
