Cuba’s revolutionary leader Fidel Castro has published his latest edition of memoirs called "The Strategic Victory," which describes the struggles of Cuban guerrillas in the Sierra Maestra.

The 900-page book tells readers about the guerrillas and their battles against Fulgencio Batista’s troops and the following victorious revolution led by Commander Fidel Castro in January 1959, that opened up a new era for Cuba – the new era of independence, freedom and socialism.

At the debut in Havana on August 2, Castro read several extracts and commented on events written about in the book. He said he is currently writing a second volume.

50,000 copies of the book were published in the initial run.

China ’s Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi was among the first to be presented with the book, which included a dedication by Fidel Castro.

Before ending his official visit to Cuba , FM Yang Jiechi was received by Fidel Castro on August 1. They discussed international issues and ties between both countries.

On this occasion, Fidel Castro also presented the Chinese Foreign Minister with the book “One hundred hours with Fidel” in Chinese./.
