A delegation from the Communist Party of Cuba (CPC) Central Committee’s International Relations Department came to Vietnam’s central city of Da Nang to study the locality’s administration and Party building.

At the working session with the city’s authorities on November 8, the Cuban officials were briefed of the city’s achievements, such as an annual GDP growth of 10 percent and export turnover of 2.5 billion USD.

Da Nang has attracted 3 billion USD in foreign investment and welcomes 2.5 million tourists a year, Secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee Nguyen Ba Thanh told his guests.

Thanh attributed these achievements to local people’s approval of guidelines and policies set by the Party Committee to build Da Nang into a civilised and modern city that acts as a driving force in the Central and Central Highlands region.

The delegation’s head, Jose Ramon Balaguer Cabrera said Da Nang ’s gains will be useful for Cuba in its national construction.

Earlier, the Cuban party officials had a working session with the Party Committee of Da Nang’s central district of Hai Chau on Party building work.

On November 9, the delegation also paid a working visit to neighbouring Quang Nam province.-VNA
