Havana (VNA) – The recent visit of a high-ranking delegation from the Cuban Ministry of Revolutionary Armed Forces (MINFAR) to Vietnam has made contributions to consolidating cooperation between the two countries’ defence ministries.

MINFAR Minister Leopoldo Cintra Frias made the statement during a meeting with Ambassador Nguyen Trung Thanh at the Vietnamese Embassy in Havana, Cuba, on April 13.

He said that MINFA will continue to provide training for Vietnamese military medical and political trainees in the coming time while speaking highly of robust socio-economic achievements Vietnam has gained during national and building and safeguarding.

For his part, Ambassador Thanh briefed Minister Cintra Frias on recent socio-economic development in Vietnam and progress in cooperation between the two nations.

He expressed his belief in the two countries’ further development, bringing practical benefits to both sides.

A delegation from the MINFA led by Minister Sen. Lieut. Gen Leopoldo Cintra Frias visited Vietnam from March 22-28 at the invitation of Defence Minister General Ngo Xuan Lich. -VNA
