The Central Highlands province of Dak Lak has invested nearly 22 billion VND (1 million USD) to build 513 houses for poor ethnic households.

Beneficiaries are mainly in Cu Mgar and Ea Kar districts and Buon Ma Thuot city.

From beginning of this year, apart from building houses for needy people, the Vietnam Fatherland Front’s Dak Lak chapter worked with relevant agencies and organisations presented gifts to 2,000 poor households and policy beneficiaries, helped build nursery schools in border communes and granted scholarships and books for poor students.

It also implemented many other support activities to help poor households develop their production.

Dak Lak will continue to call on individuals and businesses to support the programme to build households for the poor and other social welfare programmes in 2014.-VNA
