The Prime Minister has approved a Denmark-supported project on art education in primary schools with a total funding of 730,000 USD for the 2011-2015 period.

The project using non-refundable aid of the Danish Government aims to support the Ministry of Education and Training in reforming curricula and text books of art education in primary schools as well as popularise new teaching methods for the fine arts subject at primary schools nationwide as well as provide training for teachers.

It is also to stimulate the creative thinking and cognitive development of children through the development of child-centred pedagogical methods and teaching materials.
The ‘Support to Art Education in Primary Schools’ (SAEPS) follows the first-stage project in the 2006-2010 period.

Since 2006, the project had helped Thai Nguyen Pedagogical College and the National University of Art Education improve teaching capacity./.
