Dog racing is scheduled to begin in the coastal southern city of Vung Tau on September 2.

The event is expected to attract 300 greyhounds competing for two cups at level A-B and C-D with a total prize money of 300 million VND (14,000 USD).

Dog racing was introduced to Vietnam by the Sport and Entertainment Service Company and was officially licensed in 2001 in Vung Tau.

The dog track and training centre in the southern province of Ba Ria- Vung Tau is the only one in Southeast Asia.-VNA
