Drought–affected farmers in Ninh Thuan get support
Local farmers in the the central province of Ninh Thuan have been supported with varieties and fertilizer to help them start the 2016-2017 winter-spring crop on time.
Illustrative image (Source: VNA)The aid is expected to help poor farmers and those who suffered from the recent drought in Ninh Thuan recover their production.
Accordingly, the beneficiaries, who are from Phuoc Ha commune in Thuan Nam district and Nhon Son and Ma Noi communes in Ninh Son district, will receive 4.5 tonnes of rice varieties, 40kg maize varieties and 7.5 tonnes of NPK and 10 tonnes of urea fertilizer.
Dang Si Vinh, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Phuoc Ha commune, said that drought from the beginning of this year has destroyed farms of Raglai people. He expressed hope that the support will help locals resume their production.-VNA
