The 4th Passage to ASEAN (P2A) partner meeting kicked off in Duy Tan University in central Da Nang city on May 14, focusing on promoting current and future education development within the bloc.

The event was attended by 50 delegates from 22 universities and colleges in 9 ASEAN member nations, including Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, Myanmar, Malaysia, Singapore, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam.

In the framework of the meeting, the P2A is also conducting its first-ever study abroad fair and academic conference alongside the meeting. Participating institutions may choose to set up a booth at the study abroad fair to promote and offer opportunities to local students in Vietnam.

Exchanges and games arranged during the meeting also helped participants gain understanding on the history and culture of ASEAN member states.

According to Le Cong Co, Rector of Duy Tan University, the P2A was formed in 2012 during the First Assembly of Representatives hosted by Thailand’s Rangsit University.

It now groups 45 universities and colleges in the ASEAN. P2A is guided by the One Vision, One Identity and One Caring and Sharing Community and by the Principles of the ASEAN Charter. It works to enhance connection among students in the region and regional solidarity towards a united ASEAN Community.-VNA
