Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City will host the European Music Festival 2012 from November 22 to December 2.

The Head of the EU delegation to Viet Nam, Ambassador Franz Jessen, told the media in Hanoi on Nov. 15 that the festival wants to bring relaxing moments to local music lovers and also to introduce the diverse culture of European countries to the Vietnamese people.

The event will feature the participation of artists from Wallonia-Brussels ( Belgium ), Germany, Hungary, Poland, the Netherlands, Sweden, and the UK.

They will perform various kinds of music, including classical, jazz and pop.

Pianists Lucia Huang and Sebastian Euler of Duo d’Accord, who impressed the local audiences in the 2011 festival, will open the event in Hanoi.

The festival will be concluded with a performance of Danish singer Emma Transtromer.

Free tickets are available at the Goethe Institute and British Council in both Hanoi and HCM City from November 19.-VNA
