A Russian exhibition opened in Hanoi on November 11 as part of the Russian Culture Days in Vietnam (from November 7-17).

Addressing the opening ceremony, Nguyen Van Tinh, Director of the International Cooperation Department under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said the strategic partnership between the two countries has developed in all fields, including politics, military affairs, trade, economics, science-technology, and culture in particular.

The event will help further consolidate and strengthen Vietnam-Russia cultural exchange in the future, he said.

Russian Minister Counsellor Gennady Bezdetko said activities during the Russian Culture Days are taking place on the threshold of the visit to Vietnam by Russian President Vladimir Putin, which makes the event more meaningful.

On display at the exhibition are nearly 200 objects that include photos, brocade works, fine arts and Matrioshka dolls.

The event, jointly held by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Russian Ministry of Culture, will run until November 17.-VNA
