The second international exhibition of electrical technology and equipment (Vietnam Ete 2009) opened in Hanoi Nov. 10.

The four-day exhibition aims to make it easier for local and international enterprises to meet, exchange new technologies, attract investment and step up trade promotions, which will help to put into effect the national power industry’s development strategy, said Deputy Industry and Trade Minister Nguyen Thanh Bien.

New technologies and equipment for thermal, hydro, wind, solar energy and nuclear power plants, electricity transmission systems, urban lighting systems and new energy sources are being showcased at the event as well as ways of protecting the environment.

High on the exhibition’s agenda will be a seminar which will assemble policy makers, investors, suppliers and producers to discuss the way forward for Vietnam’s power industry in the near future and a master plan to develop the electricity equipment sector until 2015./.
