A photograph exhibition featuring the “Lang” house (house of the most powerful ruler in the Muong ethnic area in the northern Hoa Binh province) will kick off on June 5 at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum in Hanoi.

The two-day event, themed “Lang House – Dream of Rebirth”, is part of a three-month campaign with the same name launched by the Muong Cultural Space Museum in Hoa Binh province to raise 600 million VND (27,900 USD) for the restoration of the only Lang house in Hoa Binh, which is over 100-year-old and damaged during a fire at the end of 2013.

Various photos from both professional and amateur photographers will give visitors different views from different angles on the house that has since been moved to the Muong Cultural Space Museum .

After the exhibition, the photos will be sold to raise funds for the campaign.

The Lang house has significant meaning in the culture and spiritual life of the Muong ethnic minority people, said Director of the Muong Cultural Space Museum Vu Duc Hieu.

The stilt house belonged to Ha Thi Loi – a daughter of Lang Dao who ruled the Muong Cham area in the past.

Besides the exhibition, the museum has also called for support from the community through the website Betado.com. A fashion show inspired by traditional costumes and the Muong ethnic group culture will also be held.-VNA
