The Institution of International Education (IIE) on August 10 announced a list of fifteen students from 10 Vietnamese univesities who won the GE Foundation Scholar-Leaders scholarship 2009.

From August 14-16, the scholars will participate in a seminar on improving management skills in Hanoi and some volunteer activities to support the community.

The scholarship awards ceremony will be held on August 16 in Hanoi .

The GE Foundation scholarship programme provides financial support for disadvantaged first-year students with excellent studying results in the fields of business, engineering and science. They will receive the package which offers each total 3,600 USD for the remainder of their studies to a maximum of 3 years on the condition that they maintain a satisfactory academic performance.


The Scholar-Leaders Programme is funded by the GE Foundation, the
philanthropic organisation of the General Electric Company. The scholarships represent an investment in initiatives that improve educational opportunity and strengthen community organisations in GE communities in Vietnam and around the world./.
