The Cuban television presented a documentary film on Vietnam's late President Ho Chi Minh and Cuban revolutionary leader Fidel Castro on August 13.

The film, entitled “Convergence,” retells the two late Presidents’ life and revolutionary cause and contributions to the struggles for national independence and the world’s revolution movement.

“Convergence” was screened on the occasion of the 84 th birthday of Fidel Castro (August 13), the 65 th anniversary of Vietnam ’s Independence Day (Sept. 2) and 50 years of Vietnam-Cuba diplomatic ties.

Late Presidents Ho Chi Minh and Fidel Castro are not only the brilliant leaders of Vietnam and Cuba but also of the world, Vietnamese Ambassador to Cuba Vu Chi Cong affirmed at the film’s presentation.

He also expressed his gratitude to the Cuban people’s solidarity and friendship over the last 50 years.

Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam Fredesman Turro Gonzales spoke highly of Vietnam ’s socio-economic achievements, asserting that the country is making efforts to build a more beautiful country as Uncle Ho’s wish.

The 60-minute film was directed by Carlos Manuel and jointly produced by Mundo Latino studio under the Communist Party of Cuba’s Central Committee and Vietnam ’s Ministry of Information and Communications in 2009./.
