Bangkok (VNA) – The Embassy of Vietnam in Thailand is promptly preparing all necessary procedures to bring nine Vietnamese fishermen home next week.

Nguyen Ngoc Hai, First Secretary of the Vietnamese Embassy, said the embassy’s representatives on August 21 worked with the centre in support of victims of human trafficking, women and children under the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security of Thailand to receive these fishermen in Pathum Thani province.

The identities of the fishermen have been verified and they were enabled to contact their families.

The fishermen were arrested in August 2016 while illegally fishing in Thailand’s waters.-VNA
